Port-area Attractions Kobe

Scenic Kobe is overlooked by Mt. Rokko and connected to the world's largest suspension bridge, which stretches out over the Inland Sea. When Western culture became a part of people's daily lives during the Meiji Period, Kobe was at the forefront of this trend, and became the ‘City of Style Culture', fusing retro with modern. Attractions such as the Port Tower illumination, with its distinctive drum-shaped curvature, and the glittering ‘10 Million-Dollar Night View' wrap this exotic city in a truly fairytale atmosphere. Close to the ancient capital of Kyoto, Kobe also enjoyed a brief period in its history as Japan's capital during the Heian Period.
