Welcome to the Japan Tourism Agency’s ‘Cruise Japan’ cruise website.
The Japan Tourism Agency was set up as an external bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism on October 1, 2008, in order to strengthen Japan’s ‘Tourism Nation’ promotion structure.

The Japan Tourism Agency aims at ‘nation-building that provides a good living habitat and a good place to visit’ through the following initiatives:

  1. Communicate the appeal of Japan both domestically and internationally
  2. Increase the number of people traveling both inside and outside the country, and achieve vibrant regional communities within the country
  3. Assist the creation of regional communities’ autonomous sightseeing locations.
  4. Stimulate tourism-related industries.
  5. Provide an environment that allows all people to travel easily.

With the event of increasing numbers of cruise ships docking at Japan’s ports in recent years, the purpose of this site is to communicate information about Japan’s ports, as well as other matters, to all general tourists.
We will strive to ensure that these numbers continue to increase.
